The Department of Planning and Development has been in the process of reviewing the Future
Land Use Plan for the area surrounding the airport and the industrial port. Enclosed is a map of
the proposed changes. These changes are a result of discussions and review by city staff, and
these amendments are designed to make the Future Land Use Plan a more suitable
representation of current and likely mid-term future uses for this area.
A change to the Land Use Plan does not change the property's zoning or taxes.
As a representative of this community, how do you feel about these changes? Should the
Future Land Use Plan show something other than this? I have included a pamphlet about the
Future Land Use Plan and a list of the categories with definitions for your information.
Please contact us indicating your wishes to the address above before May 1, 2010. If no
response is given, the planning staff will move forward on these changes to the Land Use Plan.
The changes will then be taken before the Planning Commission and later to the Board of
Directors. Any questions can be directed to Eve Jorgensen at 371-4790.
