As you already know the City of Little Rock Department of Planning and
Development has been conducting a Land Use Plan Review involving properties
near Highway 10 between the Joe T. Robinson Schools and Pankey. Staff is
doing the Land Use Review at the request of the Board of Directors due to
numerous zoning requests along Highway 10 recently. The purpose of the
review is to evaluate whether or not the present Land Use Plan is still appropriate
and how it can be improved to facilitate a better community image through Smart
Growth.
Based on all comments received an amendment package has been developed
for the area to reflect a better community image consistent with the Smart Growth
concept. The amendment package is tentatively scheduled to be heard by the
Planning Commission February 3, 2005 as item LU04-19-03.
Enclosed is a map indicating proposed changes to the area's Land Use Plan.
All property owners whose land is identified for an amendment have been
notified of proposed changes in their immediate area.
