RE: LU08-23-01, Mining to Park Open Space
Dear Ms. Gieringer:
This letter is in response to two letters we received dated October 16th, 2008 regarding a
proposed change in the Little Rock City Land Use Plan. From the letters and subsequent
conversations with Brian Minyard in your office, I understand that the City would like to change
the land use plan for some of our property from Mining to Park/Open Space.
As I mentioned to Mr. Minyard, we may not even own one of the tracts you referred to
(#34L3420001200 north of the RR) and with regard to the other tract (#34L3410000129), we
object to the change in land use you are recommending. Since it is contiguous with other tracts
which will remain designated as Mining and is also connected to a railway we intend to use, and
possibly expand, (notwithstanding other activities we may fmd the need to use the property for)
we believe it would be in our best interest to leave the designation as is.
We will have a representative attend the November 13 meeting but I would appreciate it if you
would let me know sometime before then if there will be a problem keeping the land use
designation for our property unchanged. I can be reached using the number below.
