HomeMy WebLinkAbout15265 1 RESOLUTION NO. 15,265 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO 4 EXECUTE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS TO PURCHASE A PARCEL 5 OF REAL PROPERTY, LOCATED AT THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF 6 2ND STREET AND GAINES STREET, IN THE AMOUNT OF FIVE 7 HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS($550,000.00),PLUS CLOSING 8 COSTS AND FEES, FOR USE IN THE LONG-TERM PLAN FOR THE 9 LITTLE ROCK POLICE DEPARTMENT HEADQUARTERS; AND FOR 10 OTHER PURPOSES. 11 12 WHEREAS, in 2017,the City purchased the property located at 615 West Markham Street(southeast 13 corner of Markham Street and Gaines Street) for rehabilitation to house the Little Rock Police Department 14 Headquarters; and, 15 WHEREAS,the acquisition of the existing parking lot at the northeast corner of 2"d Street and Gaines 16 Street is a critical component of the long-term improvement plan for parking and uses associated with the 17 Headquarters Building. 18 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 19 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 20 Section 1. The Mayor and the City Clerk are authorized to execute all documents necessary for the 21 City to purchase the property currently owned by the Schlereth Family, LLC, for the amount of Five 22 Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars($550,000.00), plus closing costs and fees. The Mayor is authorized to 23 accept this real property for municipal purposes through an acknowledgment on the deed to the property. 24 Section 2. The formal legal description for this property is as follows: 25 The east ninety(90) feet of the south thirty (30) feet of Lot 3 and all of Lots 4, 5, & 6 of 26 Block 123 of the Original City of Little Rock,Pulaski County,Arkansas. 27 Section 3. Funds for the acquisition are available from the 3/8-Cent Capital Improvement Sales and 28 Compensating Use Tax Fund,Account No. 326529-TS52A28. 29 Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 30 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 31 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 32 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 33 resolution.
