HomeMy WebLinkAbout21887 1 ORDINANCE NO. 21,887 2 3 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, 4 ORDINANCE NO. 21,761 (JULY 23,2019), TO INCREASE THE AMOUNT 5 OF TIME A TEMPORARY ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT IS 6 ALLOWED TO EXIST; TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR 7 OTHER PURPOSES. 8 9 WHEREAS,the City of Little Rock adopted Little Rock,Ark.,Ordinance No. 21,761 (July 23,2019) 10 which authorized the creation of Entertainment Districts within the City of Little Rock;and, 11 WHEREAS, the purpose of an Entertainment District is to promote hospitality and tourism within 12 the City and to highlight restaurant, nightlife entertainment,and hospitality options for tourists;and, 13 WHEREAS, it has been determined that it is reasonable to amend the time frame that Temporary 14 Entertainment Districts are allowed to exist from five (5) consecutive calendar days up to 120 calendar 15 days. 16 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 17 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 18 Section 1. The City of Little Rock, Arkansas, Ordinance No. 21,761 (July 23, 2020) is hereby 19 amended to increase the amount of time a Temporary Entertainment District is allowed to exist from five 20 (5)consecutive calendar days up to 120 calendar days. 21 Section 2. Severability. In the event any section, subsection, subdivision, paragraph, subparagraph, 22 item, sentence, clause, phrase, or word of this ordinance is declared or adjudged to be invalid or 23 unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining provisions of this 24 ordinance,as if such invalid or unconstitutional provision was not originally a part of this ordinance. 25 Section 3. Repealer. All ordinances, resolutions, bylaws, and other matters inconsistent with this 26 ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency. 27 Section 4. Emergency Clause.
