Chief Hubbard and Captain McKinney,
I am the staff person in Planning and Development for the Historic District Commission which reviews improvements in
an area around MacArthur Park. The spate of fires are a concern to the National Register district.
Attached is a copy of the minutes for the Historic District Commission. 1414 Park Lane and 1419 Commerce Street had
been vacant for about 20 years each and have been on our radar for that long. In an effort to get the owners motivated
to sell or rehab, they went before the HDC in 2018-2019. This set of minutes have been attached.
I have plenty more documents in my files if you want to view them.
Also, if there are any questions, please let me know. Not that I have any clue as to who or why these fires happened, I
thought this would add another dimension to your investigation.
