They brought me a sample of what is there now, it looks like galvanized tin. But it has so many coats of paint and crap on it, it is hard to tell what the original color of the material should be. Also, I have told them to keep those huge air turbines on the top, but if they should replace them, let me know that also. thanks. Hey, Brian. I'm forwarding this to Brian Driscoll. I'm also sending it to Ralph Wilcox as an FYI. I think Brian would be the one to comment on the roof materials. He's out today and tomorrow but I'm sure he'll respond as soon as he gets back in. Thanks for getting in touch with us. Theresa ________________________ Theresa J. Russell Subject: I need your assistance up on the roof. 904 Scott street, Little rock, the Cohn House. PU0261 1870's Italianate house. The owner wants to replace the roof. After a couple of misses with ribbed common materials, they have finally proposed a hand crafted custom bent metal roof that matches the 20" spacing and 3/4" tall ribs. They say they will match the ridge detailing of bending the ribs down and keep the vents. That I think I could handle that part of the application. What I do not know, is that he has given me a sample box of about 30 metal samples labeled "Kynar 500 / Hylar 5000 Fluorocarbon aluminum" with many colors. The label says it is a Firestone product "Una Cald" What color do I choose? I can bring you the samples and have you decide which one would be best. I have attached a couple of photos. Boyd & Theresa, please transfer me to who knows best, if it is not you two. thanks. Brian Minyard, AICP bminyard@littlerock.org (501) 371-4789 fax (501) 399-3435 <<MVC-005X.JPG>> <<MVC-006X.JPG>>
