RE: REQUEST OF CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS
1101 CUBMERLAND STREET
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS
Dear Mr. Minyard:
I have reviewed the Design Review Guidelines of the MacArthur Park Historic District in regards to
"Signs". My response to each item as applicable is listed below for your review and approval:
SIGNS
A. The existing signage is not historic.
B. The signs will not flash or rotate.
C. There will be one (1) building sign on the 11 "' Street and one (1) building sign on
Cumberland Street side, similar to the existing signage (see photo of existing building).
D. There will be free standing traffic/parking signs only, as required or permitted by the
City of Little Rock.
E. Sign will be attached to the building and on windows and doors.
F. Signs will be of a size proportionate to the building, and not oversized.
G. Sign will utilize logos or symbols for the businesses.
H. Sign will have no more than three (3) colors and use colors that coordinate
with the building colors.
I. The original building signs are made of EIFS and were painted blue to match the building
trim. I would like to use molded plastic letters, painted blue with a color and finish to
compliment the matte blue color and finish of the ceramic tile blocks that accent the
building (see photo of existing building).
