This property is within the MacArthur Park Local Ordinance Historic District and is subject to all rules and regulations of that district. You may remember me. You visited me once in my office to discuss a proposed five- plex multi -family development that was approved for you back in 1986 at 1023 Rock Street. I am in the department with zoning and building permits. It has come to our attention, via the Housing Department, that illicit activities have been occurring in the outbuilding on your property at 1019 Rock. The neighbors have met with the Housing Staff and have discussed having the out building demolished. However, demolitions require a public hearing. Accessory buildings are a part of the historic fabric of a neighborhood, and we would like to see it saved. Options other than demolition would be to repair the structure so that it could be secured. The brush and weeds on the lot also need to be addressed as a part of this issue. Please call me on my direct line at 371-4789 to get this matter resolved. Please call me to schedule a meeting with you at your convenience to discuss this matter on site.
