Subject:523 East 8th Street
The tenant at 523 E 8th Street, Ms. Costley, came into my office last week to visit abut filing for a COA for the enclosing
of the porch. You, as the owner, will have to sign the “ Authorization of Representation Statement” in the application
packet before that item can proceed to the HDC for approval. That form must be notarized. Here is the

fees for the application, there is a fee for the abstract company and the certified mail. We have the owner sign to make
sure that you are aware of any applications heard at the Commission.
She has continued to build on the porch. There is some maintenance that needs to be done, particularly the porch floor
and the screen door. That should be addressed. If it is just those two things, I could probably sign off on those as
maintenance. I cannot sign off on the porch enclosure.
I gave her the calendar with filing and hearing dates. IF you want her to remove it, she needs to do so now. If you want
to allow her to go to the HDC, she needs to file immediately.
