Mr. Degraff,
We may be able to do this with a COC Certificate of Compliance (staff approval). I read over the roofing estimate and
there are things that need to be discussed. One is the prefinished drip edge. This cannot be shiny aluminum. It needs to
be of a color that blends with the shingles or blends with the painted fascia. I need a website or be shown a sample of
the shingle roofing style. The second is what you call ridge toppers, we call cresting. That cannot be changed or
removed. It can be reproduced if it is proven to be deteriorated to a point that it cannot be restored. See photo below.
On the painting, brick that has never been painted cannot be painted. Basic painting can be done with a COC.
You need to touch base with Paul Porter, he coordinates the easements. You have an easement on your house. Tom
Marr is the tax credit person. For ease of flow, get Paul Porter’s sign off first, me second , and then Tom’s. I have
included Paul Porter on this email.

Aloha Brian,
I have been working with the historic tax credit folks and will be submitting a 2yr plan by the end of the month.
From what I can tell the Roof (attached) and Exterior paint will be the most likely to need MacArthur historic
district review.
I’m working on possibly changing the ridge toppers, but haven’t received the quote yet. If the price is right
we’d like to do it. If not, we’ll repaint the old ones.
Please LMK if you need anything else on my end.
V/R,
Thom

Jared,
Attached is the quote we need updated.
I was able to count the ridge toppers, I just need to know the length of ridge toppers needed for
the fabrication of new ones (or a ball park estimate)
E.G. warranty transfer, cooper
flashings, mixed shingle design)? I'll
work with the Historic District and
we can shoot for April"
