I am not aware of a roof ornament or a scroll of any kind anywhere around any gable. We have not removed such, and nothing has been done to the exterior since I have owned the building from the middle 80’s. Is that something that you have referenced in an old picture? If this is correct, please reply and I will sign it for you. You will need this your permit for roofing and eave repair. Just for clarity, the LR Historic District Commission is the one that has regulations for the neighborhood. The Quapaw Quarter Association is a non-profit that promotes historic preservation. 2 Thank you, Brian Minyard, AICP Urban Designer City of Little Rock 723 West Markham Little Rock, AR 72201 bminyard@littlerock.gov Phone 501-371-4789 Fax 501-399-3435 From: Dave Garner [mailto:dave@antiquebrickinc.com] Sent: Thursday, October 25, 2018 5:16 PM To: Minyard, Brian Cc: Dave Garner Subject: 619 Rock Street Good Afternoon Brian, Thanks for taking time the other day to review what we were planning to do around our soffit and facia. We had to replace some flashing and drip edge due to some leaks around the dormers and the roof edge, and in doing so realized that some decking and some soffit and facia was rotted to the point that it would not accept nails for repair (pic attached). After visiting with you I do agree that I think we can do all of the necessary repairs and classify it as a maintenance project to our building under the definition of rules of the Quapaw Area Association. You asked me to be specific about this rebuilding in a note to you, so, we are going to rebuild the inner structure of rotted rafter tails, pine board decking near the roof edge, and the pine board substrate for the facia, then cover the substrate with Hardie Board on the facia, then cover that with flat white aluminum to match what exists on the building today. We also have a small bit of window sill repair due to settling of the building that has caused some of the brick sills to tilt inward toward the window, letting water get behind the brick. We are taking great effort to match the mortar for color. Also I mentioned to you that vandals had damaged one of the light fixtures on the front of the building, which we will also replace. I will notify you when I get a selection made that closely matches. 3 Let me know if you can email me the paperwork to get the permit, or if I need to pick it up at your office. Again, Thanks very much for your help. DG David Garner 1609 East 9th St. Little Rock, AR 72202 P: 501-375-0060 <image001.png><image002.png> www.antiquebrickinc.com www.antiquebrickoutdoors.com
