Good afternoon Shawn,
Thank you for sending me the additional photographs I requested. I recommend using cedar or cypress for the two
window sills that are rotten. I would also prime all sides of those two sills before you install them. They will last much
longer in our humid climate if they are primed on all sides. The awning you proposed is far more compatible with the
architectural style of the building than the cloth awning that is there now. That will be a vast improvement too.
Attached please find a copy of the approval letter for the project. Hard copies to follow in the mail to you, Brian Minyard
and Stephanie Steele. Please feel free to get in touch if any issues come up during the course of the project that you
need help with.
Cheers,
Paul

Paul,
Luckily, there was a nice layer of wax on the floors, so the soot will clean up with a mild degreaser. I have not seen any
issues of cracking on the walls, so we have no plans of doing any patch jobs. We only plan to paint the areas that were
painted in the past. Furthermore, we plan to re-stain the current front doors that stained during the last
renovations. See attached pics of the rotten window trim we plan to replace and paint. Come to find out there are only
two window trims that will require repairs. Lastly, we would like to replace the front awing with overhead supported
canopy in a bronze finish to match the roof cap and gutters. Attached is a picture the style that we feel would enhance
the appearance of the building.
Again, feel free to reach to me if you have further questions.
Thank you,

Good morning Shawn,
Wow you were very lucky that the fire was well contained in the building. Thank you for the photographs of the
damaged unit. Besides the items listed in your scope of work, I hope the soot cleans up well off that beautiful wood floor
in the dining area. I am also really glad that the original windows weren’t damaged by the fire, other than smoke and
soot.
I do have a couple of questions for you. On the exterior painting project, are there any areas of the building that need
the mortar joints repaired on the brick walls prior to painting? I know there are some areas that have settled on the
building that I have observed over the years of monitoring it. There have been mortar joint repairs in the past on some
areas that look like stair step settlement cracks. I’d like to know so I can give you proper technical guidance on how to
approach those repairs so they meet the Standards before you paint. Also, did you say that some of the windows have
some rotten wood on them that need to be addressed? Could you get me a few close up photos of these damaged areas
please?
Thanks much,
Paul

Paul,
Pleasure chatting with you this afternoon about the Peachtree Apartment repairs. As I mentioned on the phone, we will
need to make repairs to Unit 10 which had a minor fire. The value of overall repairs to the unit will be less than
$3500. Per our conversation, we would like to repaint the exterior of the building. However, the façade is already
painted brick. I submitted for a repair permit however Stephanie in permits will need your approval. Per your request I
have attached pictures of the damaged unit and the current exterior. Repairs will include minor electrical, drywall
repairs, and paint. We plan to purchase all new appliances and countertops.
Let me know if you need anything else.
