Hi, John:
I am not sure if Stephan McAteer forwarded this request to you--if so, I apologize for the duplication. I am
president of the Pulaski County Historical Society, and we planted a WWI Memorial Tree in MacArthur Park
last February. We are finally getting around to ordering a marker for the tree. We would like to install a 12" x 7"
bronze plaque on a 17" stake in front of the tree. I am attaching the tree location as well as the proof of our
plaque and photos of these plaques on 17" stakes. Brian Minyard and Stephan McAteer have given their
approval. I appreciate your help.
Thank you,
Rachel Patton

If Parks and Recreation is OK with it, then so am I.

Stephan,
Are you okay with this? I need to sign the certificate if you are.

As far as the HDC is concerned, this will not be visible from the street and will not require review. You will need to also
get Stephan McAteer’s approval.

Hi, Brian and Stephan:
Hope you both had a great Thanksgiving! Please review the attached proof for a sign marking the WWI
memorial tree. It is 12" x 7" on a 17" stake.
Thank you,
Rachel

With the scale of the marker that I saw, it would not be visible from 9th street. Just to be sure, please include
measurements of the plaque in your request.

Yes, thank you, Stephan was next on my list. :) The tree is located on the circle drive north of the Korean
War Memorial, so technically you could see it from the street. Here's the folder of examples again for
Stephan and a map showing location of tree.
Thank you!

Yes. if it is not seen from the street, I can administratively approve it. please send a map (google maps with
dropped pins are okay) locating the tree and a final shape, type and the words to be included in the email you need
to touch base with Stephen McAteer at the military museum to get the blessing of Parks and Rec. He is included in
this email.

Subject: Plaque for WWI Memorial Tree
Hi, Brian:
The Pulaski County Historical Society is finally getting around to the task of placing a plaque by our WWI
Memorial Tree in MacArthur Park. We have been round and round about what the marker should look like,
and I've asked one of our board members to get a quote from a company she has used in the past. They are
working on the proof for us now, but the company sent some pictures of their plaques on 17" stakes
(attached). Would something like this be permissible in MacArthur Park?
Thanks,
Rachel
