HomeMy WebLinkAbout19352I ORDINANCE NO. 19,352 2 3 AN ORDINANCE TO DISPENSE WITH THE REQUIREMENT OF 4 COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER 5 TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH PULASKI COUNTY, 6 ARKANSAS FOR ALTERNATIVE SCHOOL SERVICES; AND FOR 7 OTHER PURPOSES. 8 9 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock may dispense with the requirement of 10 competitive bidding in exceptional situations where such procedure is not feasible, and 11 WHEREAS, the City finds that competitive bidding for Alternative School 12 Services is not feasible as the Pulaski County Alternative School on Roosevelt Road 13 remains the only school that offers services to students who have been expelled from 14 other schools for acts of violence. 15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS 16 OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 17 Section 1. The Board of Directors finds that competitive bidding should be 18 dispensed with for the purpose of alternative school services for violent offenders, as an 19 exceptional situation exists and competitive bidding is impractical and infeasible. 20 Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to dispense with 21 competitive bidding and enter into a contract with Pulaski County for Alternative 22 School Services for $35,000 for the period beginning September 1, 2005, and ending 23 August 31, 2006. 24 Section 3. Severability. Section 4. Repealer. All ordinances, resolutions, bylaws, and other matters inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
