I have sent it to Sherri and my boss Jamie. You should refer him to me and Jamie. Thanks for your input on having them reappear. I would be in favor of having them reappear in front of the commission to further discuss this issue. How should we go about responding to Mr. Moses? -----Original Message----- From: Jimmy Moses <JMoses@newmarkmtp.com> Sent: Monday, November 05, 2018 4:57 PM To: Lauren Frederick <lfrederick@hosto.com>; 'fmcswaim@sbcglobal.net' <fmcswaim@sbcglobal.net> Cc: Rett Tucker <rtucker@newmarkmtp.com>; Chris Moses <CMoses@newmarkmtp.com>; Ray Nolan <rnolan@newmarkmtp.com>; Jamie Moses <jamoses@newmarkmtp.com> Subject: FW: Emailing: HDC18-021 letter.pdf Lauren & Missy, I wanted to share my correspondence with Brian Minyard regarding the demand to remove a fence adjacent to the Magnolia apartment building we own at the corner of Capitol & Rock streets. A very long story made short, we installed a decorative metal fence 3 years ago when we remodeled the building ....the fence was supposed to be 3 feet tall but wound up being 6 feet tall. We begged the Commission at the time to allow us to leave the fence , as it was /is new & was expensive. I think my email below explains the rest. I just can't bring myself to destroy a perfectly nice fence for no good reason ! Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you. Brian, given the threatening nature of this correspondence and our disbelief that you & the Historic District continue to harass us regarding the removal of a $10,000 decorative, metal fence installed just 3 years ago ( photos enclosed ) , I suggest it might be a good idea for us to reappear before the Commission to discuss this matter , again. There are examples of numerous types & sizes of fences throughout the neighborhood....some are wooden, some are metal, some old some new, some in a state of total disrepair others like ours, in perfect condition and the heights of these fences vary from roughly 3 feet to 8-10 feet. On the stretch of Capitol Avenue between Rock & Sherman the fences vary in height from 3-6 feet .The fence on Capitol Avenue in front of Rainwater Apartments is 6 feet tall, decorative metal: the same is true for Rainwater Flats fence: the fence in front of Trapnell Hall is metal 3-4 feet tall but where it turns onto the alley , adjacent to our fence, it rises to approximately 5 feet in height. This demand simply makes no sense !! Please share this request with whomever you like & let me know if we can meet. Thank you. You will also get a copy via registered mail via USPS. I have also attached the minutes of the item when it was last heard at the HDC. This fence needs to be removed as soon as possible. Please contact me as to your schedule for removal. You have approval to install the three foot fence as initially requested. 3 Brian Minyard, AICP Urban Designer City of Little Rock 723 West Markham Little Rock, AR 72201 bminyard@littlerock.gov Phone 501-371-4789 Fax 501-399-3435
