3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A
4 CONTRACT WITH THE ARKANSAS STATE HIGHWAY COMMISSION
5 TO SELL APPROXIMATELY TWENTY-EIGHT(28)SQUARE-FEET OF A
6 DRAINAGE EASEMENT LOCATED IN PART OF THE SOUTHWEST
7 QUARTER OF THE NORTHEAST QUARTER OF SECTION 21,
8 TOWNSHIP 2 NORTH, RANGE 13 WEST, PULASKI COUNTY,
9 ARKASNAS, FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO HIGHWAY 10 (CANTRELL
10 ROAD), FROM INTERSTATE 430 TO SAM PECK ROAD; AND FOR
11 OTHER PURPOSES.

13 WHEREAS,the Arkansas State Highway Commission is undertaking a project to improve Highway 10
14 (Cantrell Road),from Interstate 430 to Sam Peck Road to alleviate traffic congestion and make traveling along
15 Cantrell Road safer, quicker and more efficient; and,
16 WHEREAS, these road improvements necessitate that the Arkansas Department of Transportation
17 (ArDOT)acquire approximately twenty-eight(28)square-feet,more or less,as described and shown on plans
18 prepared by ArDOT and referenced as Job No. 061331 and located in part of the Southwest Quarter of the
19 Northeast Quarter of Section 21,Township 2 North, Range 13 West,Pulaski County,Arkansas;and,
20 WHEREAS,the City Board of Directors has determined that it is in the best interests of the City to sell the
21 Drainage Easement to the Arkansas State Highway Commission for the road improvements on Highway 10
22 (Cantrell Road).
23 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
24 LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
25 Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute, in a form approved by the City Attorney,any
26 and all sales contracts and documents required to convey to the Arkansas State Highway Commission the real
27 property described as follows:
28 Part of the Southwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 21, Township 2 North,
29 Range 13 West, Pulaski County, Arkansas, more particularly described as follows:
30 Commencing at a point being used as the Southeast Corner of a Little Rock Fire Department
31 Fire Station as established by Warranty Deed Book No. 955, Page No. 425; thence North
32 39°49'46" East a distance of 46.97 feet to a point on the northeasterly right-of-way line of

1 Arkansas State Highway 10 (Cantrell Road) as established by ArDOT Job No. 061331;
2 thence North 49°17'36" West along said right-of-way line a distance of 84.34 feet to the
3 POINT OF BEGINNING; thence continue North 49°17'36"West along said right-of-way
4 line a distance of 6.00 feet to a point;thence North 39°50'04"East a distance of 4.69 feet to a
5 point;thence South 50°09'56"East a distance of 6.00 feet to a point;thence South 39°50'04"
6 West a distance of 4.78 feet to a point the point of beginning and containingtwenty-eight(28)
7 square-feet,more or less,as shown on plans prepared by ArDOT and referenced as Job No.
8 061331.
9 Section 2. Severability. In the event any title,section,paragraph,item,sentence,clause,phrase,or word
I O of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication
11 shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the
12 portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the resolution.
13 Section 3. Repealer. All laws,ordinances,resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with the
14 provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
