We live at 3 Canterbury Court and are immediate neighbors to the property at 14929 Cantrell Road.
Because we have been staunch supporters for following the land use plans and keeping commercial enterprises
in the planned commercial nodes on Highway 10 it goes against our grain to support a commercial proposal at
this site. However, when we consider the options for other development on this site such as offices buildings or
multi -family housing this proposal seems to be much less invasive into our yard and our neighborhood than the
others do. That is because of the large area of undisturbed buffer that the developers are proposing—more
than half of the lot.
Even with some of the concerns we have about a commercial use, we think it will be much less intrusive
than having office buildings or multi -family housing or parking lots built within 30 feet of our back yard—which is
their side yard.
There is the continuing neighborhood issue of storm water problems. The developers have explained about the
detention areas and how they should help reduce that problem.
The developers, Mr. Keathley and Mr. Van Rossum, have met with neighbors on several occasions, have been
open to our concerns and have made changes that reflect those concerns. It is our opinion that they will work
diligently at being good neighbors.
We support this proposal.

On April 14, 2005, the Planning Commission heard your request for a Land Use
Plan Amendment, LU05-01-02, at South side of Cantrell Road near the 15000
Block. This action was denied by the Planning Commission that evening.
You may appeal that decision to the Little Rock City Board of Directors via the
City Clerk. Contact Nancy Woods at 371-6803 for further information. You have
thirty (30) days to appeal that recommendation.
Please remove the Land Use Plan Amendment notice sign from your property
within 10 days after the Board of Directors hears your item. We may remove the
sign if you do not.
