To Close Right -of -Way In Order
to Combine the Land and the
Development of the Children's
Hospital Expansion
This closure involves a one -black segment of Wolfe Street -which
after closure will be ,utilized as part of the land area.for
expansion of the -Children's Hospital. The Hospital has a development
plan, involving.several blocks in the immediate area, Block -s on
each side of the street closure have recently been rezoned, and the
Board of Adjustment has approved the overall development plan which
will guide -future structural expansion. Since the Hospital will be
expanded over the -closed right-of-wa.y,, the applicant should be
aware of utility request for permanent easements.- Steps should be
taken by the applicant to gain easement releases. The staff feels
that closure. of. this, street: presents no problems but would suggest
that the Hospital, provide- phys.ical.. barriers to through traffic on
each end of the.block. This,will.ser.ve to prevent this street from
becoming -a traffic problem un:til.th.e.Hospital can begin
construction .of its .permanent.:structures.
We recommend the approval of this.r.eq.uest.
