Gentlemen:
Attached is a copy of a Petition signed by forty-four (44)
persons in the general neighborhood area of the proposed re-
zoning of Iowa Street adjacent to Mississippi and Mississippi
from Iowa South to Ohio.
These signers have expressed their disapproval of the rezoning
proposal but because of other commitments could not appear be-
fore this Meeting today.
Please accept this Petition as our plea against the rezoning
of the property in question.

ing to F. E. 4..tes and Ruth 'lustison, for the following reasons.
It creates a traffic problem because of the narrow street which is already
inadequate for present usage. rY:flb a ser,,FFe problem also exists which is
inadequate for the homes it serves. It would depreciate surrounding property
-"and set a precedent for other undesirable rezoning.

The Staff's recommendation was read as follows: "The Staff recommends approval of
this application. An "E-111 development will buffer the commercial uses on the
north and will tend to discourage any commercial zoning on the south side -of this
property. "F" -Commercial development lies across the street to the east. The large
undeveloped tract lying adjacent on the west is the subject of another application
before the Commission at this hearing."
There were no objectors. Mr. F. E. Bates, the applicant, was :present.
