3 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND LITTLE ROCK, ARK., REV. CODE
4 36-203(8)TO EXTEND THE SUNSET PROVISION FOR AN ADDITIONAL
5 FIVE (5) YEARS TO JULY 19, 2024, FOR PORTABLE CLASSROOM
6 BUILDINGS UTILIZED BY THE LITTLE ROCK SCHOOL DISTRICT;
7 AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS,Portable Classroom Buildings were determined to require a Conditional Use Permit on
10 residentially-zoned Little Rock School District properties after passage of the current Zoning Ordinance;
11 and,
12 WHEREAS,Ordinance No. 15,710 was passed by the Little Rock School Board of Directors on July
13 18, 1989, which allowed staff approval for placement of Portable Classroom Buildings on Little Rock
14 School District campuses with a five(5)-year Sunset Provision; and,
is WHEREAS,that Sunset Provision has been extended by five(5)successive five(5)-year periods and
16 is to expire on July 19,2019; and,
17 WHEREAS, the Little Rock School District has determined that there remains to be a need for
18 continued use of Portable Classroom Buildings.
19 NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
20 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS.
21 Section 1. That Chapter 36., Section 36-203(g) of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Little Rock,
22 Arkansas is hereby amended to read as follows:
23 (g) Sunset provision. The Board of Directors hereby extends the Sunset Provision of the
24 Zoning Ordinance for an additional five (5) years to July 19, 2024, for Portable School
25 Classrooms in the Little Rock School District.
26 Section 2. Severability. In the event any title,section,paragraph, item,sentence,clause,phrase,or word
27 of this ordinance is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication
28 shall not affect the remaining portions of the ordinance which shall remain in full force and effect as if the
29 portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the ordinance.
30 Section 3. Repealer. All laws, ordinances,resolutions,or parts of the same that are inconsistent with
31 the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
