Markham Street April 12, 2005 4:00 PM The Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas met in a reconvened session with Mayor Dailey presiding. Mayor Dailey called the meeting to order at 4:00 pm. The meeting was reconvened from April 5, , 2005 for the purpose of Authorizing the City Manager to enter into a contract with Mason, Inc. for construction of Zoo entry plaza improvements. City Clerk, Nancy Wood called the roll with the following Directors Present: Pugh, Keck, Wyrick, Stewart, Cazort, Hinton, Adcock, Vice Mayor Graves, and Mayor Dailey. Director Hurst was absent. Director Kumpuris enrolled at 4:30 pm. 1. RESOLUTION 11,970 - To authorize the City Manager to enter into a contract with Matson, Inc. for construction of Zoo entry plaza improvements; and for other purposes. Staff recommends approval. 2004 Bond Project. Synopsis: The resolution awards a contract to Matson, Inc. in the amount of $1,196,828 for construction of the Zoo entry building, plaza and associated site work, subject to the project's endorsement by the Bond Progress Committee at their April 18, 2005 meeting. The resolution was read. A motion was made by Director Adcock, seconded by Director Cazort to adopt the resolution. By unanimous voice vote of the Board members present being two thirds in number, the resolution was adopted. Director Cazort stated that part of the ordinance for the Zoo Board of Governors required them to submit to this Board an Annual Report, and had asked him to pass it out to the Board members at tonight's meeting. He stated the Board had been provided with pictures that Mike Blakely, Zoo Director had brought of the new Sloth Bear Cubs. Director Cazort also noted that Mr. Blakely would like to make a couple of comments regarding the press conference to be held this coming Friday. Mr. Blakely stated the Board should have received an e -mail regarding the press conference at the Zoo at 11 am on Friday. It will be hosted by Mayor Dailey, to announce a brand new species coming to the Zoo which will be on exhibit the following week. It is an exciting group of animals and invited everyone to come out to hear the exciting news. Director Cazort made a motion to adjourn seconded by Director Adcock. By unanimous voice vote of the Board members present, the meeting was adjourned at 4:05 pm.
