HomeMy WebLinkAbout14965 1 RESOLUTION NO. 14,965 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH HARRIS CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT 5 IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED SIXTY FIVE 6 THOUSAND, TWO HUNDRED FOURTY-EIGHT DOLLARS 7 ($265,248.00), FOR SIDEWALK CONSTRUCTION WITHIN THE CITY 8 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 9 10 WHEREAS, sidewalk improvements are needed within the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, to 11 maintain existing sidewalks; and, 12 WHEREAS, citizens of the City of Little Rock approved a sales tax which provided funding for 13 these sidewalk improvements; and, 14 WHEREAS, the Public Works Department maintains a list of resident requests for sidewalk 15 replacement; and, 16 WHEREAS, Harris Construction Management submitted Bid No. 399, the lowest, most responsible 17 bid of the eleven(11)bids received,meeting specifications for the 2019 Sidewalk Replacement Program. 18 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 19 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 20 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with Harris Construction 21 Management in an amount not to exceed Two Hundred Sixty Five Thousand, Two Hundred Forty-Eight 22 Dollars($265,248.00), which is Two Hundred Twenty-One Thousand,Forty Dollars($221,040.00)plus a 23 20%contingency. 24 Section 2. Funding for this project is from the 3/8-Cent Capital Improvement Sales and 25 Compensating Use Tax Funds,Account No. TS40A08. 26 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 27 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 28 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 29 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the 30 resolution. 31 Section 4.
