HomeMy WebLinkAbout14956 1 RESOLUTION NO. 14,956 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT WITH REDSTONE 5 CONSTRUCTION GROUP, INC., IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED 6 FOUR MILLION, FIVE HUNDRED THIRTY-EIGHT THOUSAND, ONE 7 HUNDRED FORTY-ONE AND 56/100 DOLLARS ($4,538,141.56), FOR 8 STREET RESURFACING WITHIN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, 9 ARKANSAS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES 10 11 WHEREAS, Street resurfacing improvements are needed within the City of Little Rock,Arkansas,to 12 maintain existing asphalt streets; and, 13 WHEREAS, citizens of the City of Little Rock approved the 3/8-Cent Capital Improvement Sales 14 and Compensating Use Tax Funds and the Limited Tax General Obligation Capital Improvement Bonds; 15 and, 16 WHEREAS, Redstone Construction Group, Inc., submitted the lowest bid (Bid No. 350) meeting 17 specifications for the 2019 Street Resurfacing Program. 18 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 19 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 20 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a Construction Contract with 21 Redstone Construction Group, Inc., in an amount not to exceed Four Million, Five Hundred Thirty-Eight 22 Thousand, One Hundred Forty-One and 56/100 Dollars ($4,538,141.56), or Three Million,Nine Hundred 23 Forty-Six Thousand,Two Hundred Ten and 05/100 Dollars($3,946,210.05), plus 15%contingency. 24 Section 2. Funding for this project is from the 3/8-Cent Capital Improvement Sales and 25 Compensating Use Tax Funds and the Limited Tax General Obligation Capital Improvement Bonds. 26 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 27 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 28 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 29 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the 30 resolution. 31 Section 4.
