Home My WebLink About14939 1 RESOLUTION NO. 14,939 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH SHIELDS AND ASSOCIATES, INC., IN AN 5 AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FIVE HUNDRED SEVENTEEN THOUSAND 6 DOLLARS ($517,000.00), FOR CONSTRUCTION SERVICES FOR THE 7 TWO RIVERS RESTROOM PROJECT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 8 9 WHEREAS, the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism awarded the City of Little Rock an 10 Outdoor Recreation Grant in the amount of One Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand Dollars ($175,000.00); 11 and, 12 WHEREAS, in 2016, three (3) citizen participation meetings were conducted regarding a project to 13 construct restroom facilities along the Arkansas River Trail at Two Rivers Park on the south side of the 14 river;and, 15 WHEREAS, the total cost of the project will not exceed Five Hundred Seventeen Thousand Dollars 16 ($517,000.00) and will be funded from Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism's Outdoor Recreation 17 Grant Funds,Account No.270-459-G23122,One Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand Dollars($175,000.00), 18 and the 2016 Grants Match Account,No. 108459-S45G002,One Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand Dollars 19 ($175,000.00),the additional funds needed for this project will be funded from Parks Capital Upgrade Tax 20 Activity; and, 21 WHEREAS,a site map of the twenty-four(24)-foot by thirty(30)-foot restroom concept with retaining 22 wall and concrete walks is attached as Exhibit A; and, 23 WHEREAS, after a competitive bidding process it was determined that Shields and Associates, Inc., 24 was the lowest,most responsible bid with a total of six(6)bids received. 25 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF'IRE CITY 26 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 27 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into an agreement with Shields and Associates, 28 Inc. in an amount not to exceed Five Hundred Seventeen Thousand Dollars ($517,000.00) to provide 29 General Construction Services to the City of Little Rock for the construction of the Two Rivers Restroom 30 Project. 31 Section 2. The Project will be funded from Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism's Outdoor 32 Recreation Grant Funds, Account No. 270-459- G23122, One Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand Dollars 33 ($175,000.00), and the 2016 Grants Match Account, No. 108459- S45G002, One Hundred Seventy-Five [Page 1 of 3] 1 Thousand Dollars ($175,000.00), and additional funding needed for this project will be funded from the 2 Parks Capital Upgrade Tax Activity. 3 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 4 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adju- 5 dication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect 6 as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the reso- 7 lution. 8 Section 4. Repealer.
