HomeMy WebLinkAbout119821 2 RESOLUTION NO. 11,982 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO 4 ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF 5 REPLACEMENT VEHICLES FOR VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS IN 6 THE CITY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 7 8 WHEREAS, it is periodically necessary for the City to purchase certain vehicles 9 for various departments, and to either make these purchases from the state purchase 10 contract pursuant to Ark. Code Ann. § 19 -11 -249 (Michie Repl. 1998), or to advertise for 11 competitive bids and award a contract to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder; 12 and 13 WHEREAS, the City has decided that it is in its best interest to purchase one (1) 14 Dodge Durango, four (4) Dodge 3/4 -ton trucks, three (3) 1/2 -ton Chevrolet trucks, one (1) 15 Chevrolet 1 -ton cab and chassis, and one (1) Chevrolet 1 -ton cab and chassis, from the 16 2004 -2005 Arkansas State Purchasing Contract; and 17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF 18 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 19 SECTION 1: The City Manager is hereby authorized to make the following 20 purchases of vehicles pursuant to the state purchasing contract: 21 (a) One (1) Dodge Durango (Dept. 2210), and four (4) Dodge 3/4 -ton 22 trucks (Depts. 2210, 2250 and 1610) for an amount not to exceed 23 Eighty -one Thousand, One Hundred Fifty -six Dollars ($81,156.00) 24 to be purchased from Little Rock Dodge; 25 (b) Three (3) 1/2 -ton Chevrolet trucks (Depts. 3210, 3340 and 3380), one 26 (1) Chevrolet 1 -ton cab and chassis (Dept. 6040), and one (1) [PAGE 1 OF 21 Resolution To Purchase Vehicles from 2004 -2005 State Purchasing Contract 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 Chevrolet cab and chassis, for an amount not to exceed Seventy -six Thousand, Two Hundred Sixty Dollars ($76,260.00) to be purchased from Bale Chevrolet; Section 2. Funds for these purchases are to be allocated from the 2005 Short - Term Financing Account. Section 3. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency. Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the resolution.
