That is more homes in an area that we are already short a station. At some point we have got to put another Station in that NW area, this will pull those resources further away from
an unprotected area.

Delphone,
You haven’t been involved in an annexation request yet. We need fire’s comments. Call if you have any questions.

I have now heard from Public Works. They indicate they have no issues with the annexation.
I think Fire is the only other Department that it is important to hear from (June 6 is the deadline). (Note the volunteer Fire Department has send in a statement against the annexation,
saying they can serve the area with their existing resources as is or developed. They also pointed out the safety issue of ‘in-out’ along Kanis Road this would create further to the
west.) Based on what Fire has said at the ETJ meetings and what Police has said to this request; I am not sure a positive recommend should be made. But maybe we need to talk with
the City Manager and these two departments before we take a public position.
Tim Daters has asked if we have gotten any comments on the annexation and I have told him the agencies have until June 6 for comment. Further I noted that the Police comment was not
positive.

I would recommend asking Mr. Moore for a meeting on this request (Kanis Road 180 Acres). Police have given a negative comment. I have not heard from Fire. But they have been talking
very negative at the ETJ meetings, so I do not expect a positive recommendation. I have not heard from PW yet either and that could go either way. So, I think our initial recommendation
will not be positive on this (which is not typical and Bruce might want to weight in before there is anything written and distributed. Fire, PW and Parks (as well as others) have until
Wednesday to get comments in.
