AN ORDINANCE TO ACCEPT THE 3
DELTICPOTLATCH KANIS ROAD ANNEXATION 4
(A-332), TO ADD CERTAIN LANDS TO THE CITY OF 5
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS; AND FOR OTHER 6
PURPOSES. 7

WHEREAS, a petition for voluntary annexation (the “Petition”) was filed 9
with the County Clerk of Pulaski County, Arkansas, by a majority of the owners 10
hereinafter designated lands praying that said lands be annexed to and made part of 11
the City of Little Rock, Arkansas; and, 12

WHEREAS, the County Court of Pulaski County, Arkansas found that the 14
Petition was signed by a majority of the real property owners of the area (by area and 15
number) to be annexed and the annexation request met all requirements of Arkansas 16
Code 14-40-601 through 14-40-603; and, 17

WHEREAS, the Pulaski County Judge has signed an Annexation Order for 19
the site requesting annexation (filed May 4, 2018); and, 20
21
WHEREAS, an accurate map of said lands has been filed with and made a 22
part of said Petition; and, 23

WHEREAS, proper notice has been given for the time and in the manner 25
prescribed by law; and, 26
27
WHEREAS, all things pertaining thereto have been done in the manner 28
prescribed by law and that said lands should be annexed to and made part of the City 29
of Little Rock. 30

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF 1
DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 2

SECTION 1. The following described territory contiguous and adjoining 4
the City of Little Rock, Arkansas is accepted as annexed to and made a part of the 5
City of Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas, to wit: 6

DELTICPOLATCH KANIS ROAD ANNEXATION (A-33) 8
A portion of Section 34 in T-2-N, R-14-W, Pulaski County, 9
Arkansas being more particularly described: 10
As Beginning at the Northwest Corner of the E l/2 SW l/4 of SAID 11
SECTION 34; THENCE EASTERLY along the NORTH Line of the 12
SAID E l/2 SW l/4 of SECTION 34, and along the present CITY 13
LIMITS Line, to the Northeast Corner of the SAID E l/2 SW l/4 of 14
SECTION 34; THENCE SOUTHERLY along the EAST Line of the 15
SAID E l/2 SW l/4 of SECTION 34, and the present CITY LIMITS 16
Line, to the Northwest Corner of the S l/2 NW l/4 SE l/4 of SAID 17
SECTION 34; THENCE EASTERLY along the NORTH Line 18
of the SAID S l/2 NW l/4 SE l/4, and along the present CITY 19
LIMITS Line, to the Northeast Corner of the SAID S l/2 NW 1/4 SE l/4 20
of SECTION 34; THENCE SOUTHERLY along the EAST Line of the 21
SAID S 1/2 NW l/4 SE 1/4, and along the present CITY LIMITS Line, 22
to the Northwest Corner of the SE l/4 SE l/4 of SAID SECTION 34; 23
THENCE EASTERLY along the NORTH Line of the SAID SE l/4 SE 24
l/4 of SECTION 34, and along the present CITY LIMITS Line, to A 25
Point 200 Feet WEST of the Northeast Corner of the SAID SE 1/4 SE 26
1/4 of SECTION 34; THENCE SOUTHERLY along A Line 200 Feet 27
WEST of and Parallel to the EAST Line of the SAID SE l/4 SE l/4 of 28
SECTION 34 to A Point on the SOUTH Line of SAID SECTION 34; 29
THENCE WESTERLY along SAID SOUTH Line of SECTION 34 to A 30

Point on the NORTHERLY Right-Of-Way Line of Kanis Road; 1
THENCE WESTERLY along SAID NORTHERLY Right-Of-Way Line 2
of Kanis Road to Point where the SAID NORTHERLY Right-Of-Way 3
Line of Kanis Road intersects the WEST Line of the E l/2 SW 1/4 of 4
SAID SECTION 34; THENCE NORTHERLY along the WEST Line of 5
the SAID E l/2 SW l/4 of SECTION 34 to the Point of Beginning. 6
AND 7
The SW l/4 NW l/4 of SECTION 34 IN T-2-N, R-14-W, Pulaski County, 8
Arkansas. 9
And all that portion of SECTION 3, T-1-N, R-14-W, Pulaski 10
County, Arkansas, Lying NORTH of the NORTHERLY Right-Of-11
Way Line of Kanis Road less & except the EAST 370.23 Feet 12
THEREOF. 13
All Containing 180 Acres, More or Less; 14
And all adjoining, abutting and traversing Road and 15
Rights-Of-Way. 16

SECTION 2. The City of Little Rock shall provide police and fire 18
protection; assume maintenance responsibility for the portion of Kanis Road fronting 19
said property; make available Code and other services of the City; and upon approval 20
by the respective utility allow the property owners within the annexation to extend 21
service lines to the Little Rock Water Reclamation system and Central Arkansas 22
Water system from the effective date of the annexation. 23

SECTION 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, 25
sentence, clause, phrase, or word of this ordinance is declared or adjudged to be 26
invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the 27
remaining portions of the ordinance which shall remain in full force and effect as if 28

the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a 1
part of the ordinance. 2

SECTION 5. Repealer. All ordinances or resolutions of the City in 4
conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. 5
