HomeMy WebLinkAbout121861 2 RESOLUTION NO. 12,186 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO 4 PURCHASE THREE (3) LARGE POLICE SEDANS FOR THE 5 POLICE DEPARTMENT THROUGH THE ARKANSAS STATE 6 COOPERATIVE PURCHASE CONTRACT; AND FOR OTHER 7 PURPOSES. : 9 WHEREAS, it is periodically necessary for the City to purchase equipment for 10 various departments, and to either make these purchases from the state purchase 11 contract pursuant to Ark. Code Ann. § 19-11-249 (Michie Repl. 1998), or to advertise for 12 competitive bids and award a contract to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder, 13 and 14 WHEREAS, the Police Department needs to replace three (3) large Police Sedans, 15 which are older, higher mileage units currently being operated by the Police 16 Department, and 17 WHEREAS, the City has decided that it is in its best interest to purchase the 18 requested sedans from North Point Ford through the Arkansas State Cooperative 19 Purchasing Contract, at a cost of Sixty Thousand, Twelve Dollars ($60,012.00); and 20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF 21 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 22 Section 1: The City Manager is hereby authorized to purchase three (3) large 23 Police Sedans for the Police Department, for the amount of Sixty Thousand, Twelve 24 Dollars ($60,012.00); through the State Cooperative Purchasing Contract. 25 Section 2. Funds for these purchases are available from the 2005 Short Term 26 Financing Account for the Police Department. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency. Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the resolution.
