HomeMy WebLinkAbout14796 1 RESOLUTION NO. 14,796 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO 4 REIMBURSE THE FIRST TEE OF CENTRAL ARKANSAS, IN AN 5 AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED FIFTEEN THOUSAND 6 DOLLARS ($115,000.00), FOR THE COST OF THE HVAC SYSTEM AT 7 THE JACK STEPHENS YOUTH GOLF ACADMEY; AND FOR OTHER 8 PURPOSES. 9 10 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, entered into an Agreement entitled The First Tee 11 Facilities Agreement by and between World Golf Foundation, Inc., a Florida not-for profit corporation by 12 and through its division,The First Tee on October 27, 1999 ("Original Agreement"); and 13 WHEREAS, an Addendum to recognize the removal and replacement of a party was entered into on 14 November 25, 2016, by and between the City of Little Rock Arkansas and The Jack Stephens Youth Golf 15 Academy, Inc., doing business as The First Tee of Central Arkansas ("The First Tee"), and removing The 16 World Golf Foundation Inc.; and 17 WHEREAS, in its original agreement the City agreed to develop, construct, operate and maintain the 18 First Tee facility at the Jack Stephens Youth Golf Academy, home of the First Tee; and, 19 WHEREAS,Middleton Heat&Air furnished the labor and material to install the new HVAC System 20 as follows: 21 a. Demolition,reclaiming of refrigerant, and to properly dispose thirteen (13) existing R22 Split 22 System Heat Pumps and Fan Coils totaling fifty-two(52)tons of heating and air conditioning. 23 b. Furnish and install thirteen (13) new Carrier High Efficiency Fifteen (15)-Seer R410a, Split 24 System Heat Pumps and New Fan Coils equipped with electric emergency back-up heat 25 totaling fifty-two(52)tons of heating and air conditioning. 26 c. Perform additional work to include: electrical from existing disconnects; low voltage controls 27 wiring; flush and purge existing refrigerant line-sets; refrigerant piping as required at each 28 component including new bi-flow filter dryers; secondary emergency drain pans and system 29 shutdown switches at all horizontal units above ceiling areas; ductwork fittings fabricated and 30 installed as required; permits; start up; and the last of any warranty for any of this work; 31 warranty. 32 WHEREAS,The First Tee of Central Arkansasresented the Citywith an invoice for reimbursement P 33 from Middleton Heat and Air for the replacement of the HVAC System in the amount of One Hundred 34 Fifteen Thousand Dollars($115,000.00); [Page 1 of 2] 1 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 2 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 3 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to reimburse The First Tee of Central Arkansas the amount 4 of One Hundred Fifteen Thousand Dollars($115,000.00)to cover the cost of HVAC replacement. 5 Section 2. The funding for the reimbursement is available in the 2018 Building Services Special 6 Project Account. 7 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 8 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 9 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 10 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 11 resolution. 12 Section 4. Repealer.
