ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS, VACATING AND CLOSING A PORTION OF NORTH
PALM STREET LOCATED BETWEEN BLOCK 6 AND BLOCK 8, HILLCREST
ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
WHEREAS, a petition was duly filed with the Board of Directors
of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, on the 26th day of January,
1961, requesting the Board of Directors to vacate and abandon a
part of North Palm Street located between Block 6 and Block 8,
Hillcrest Addition to the City of Little Rock, as designated on
the plat of said Addition now appearing of record in Plat Book 1,
at page 57, in the office of the Recorder of Pulaski County,
Arkansas, subject, however, to any public easements in said
portion of said street; and
WHEREAS, after due notices as required by law, the Board of
Directors has, at the time and place mentioned in the notice,
heard all persons desiring to be heard on the question and has
ascertained that the portion of North Palm Street, hereinafter
described, has heretofore been d6dicated to the public use as
a street, as herein described; has not been actually used by the
public generally for a period of at least five years subsequent
to the filing of the plat; that all of the owners of the property
abutting upon the portion of said street to be vacated have filed
with the Board of Directors their written consent to such abandon-
ment; and that public interest and welfare will not be adversely
affected by the abandonment of such portion of said street;
NCW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City of Little Rock, Arkansas, hereby releases,
vacates and abandons all its rights, together with the rights of
the public generally, in and to that portion of North Palm Street
designated as follows:
Beginning at the Southeast Corner of Lot 1, Block 60
Hillcrest Addition to the City of Little Rock, thence
run Northerly with the East boundary line of said
Lot 1 a distance of 155 feet to the Northeast Corner
of said lot, thence Northeasterly along the South
line of North Lookout Street a distance of 44 feet to
the Northwest Corner of Lot 7, Block 6, Hi llcrest
Addition, thence Southerly a distance of 155 feet to the
Southwest Corner of said Lot 7, thence Westerly a distance
of 44 feet to the point of beginning.
subject, however, to a ton-foot utility and drainage easement, the
center line of said easement being 16 feet East of the East property
line of Lot 1, Block 6, Hillcrest Addition, and an overhead easement
for the present electric light circuit.
SECTION 2. A copy of this Ordinance, duly certified by the
City Clerk, shall be filed in the office of the Recorder of
Pulaski County and recorded in the Deed Records of the County.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage.
