Home My WebLink About21580 1 ORDINANCE NO. 21,580 2 3 AN ORDINANCE TO DECLARE IT IMPRACTICAL AND UNFEASIBLE 4 TO BID; TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ISSUE A 5 PURCHASE ORDER TO AXCON ENTERPRISE,INC.,IN THE AMOUNT 6 OF SEVENTY-TWO THOUSAND, SIXTY-TWO AND 73/100 DOLLARS 7 ($72,062.73), FOR THE PURCHASE OF EIGHTEEN (18) LESS-THAN- 8 LETHAL ELECTRONIC CONTROL TASER DEVISES FOR THE LITTLE 9 ROCK POLICE DEPARTMENT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 10 11 WHEREAS, there is a need to purchase eighteen (18) Less-Than-Lethal Electronic Control Taser 12 Devises to be used by the Little Rock Police Department(LRPD); and 13 WHEREAS, Axon Enterprise, Inc., is the sole supplier of the Taser Devices which meet LRPD 14 specifications and has the ability to record actions during the deployment of the devise;and, 15 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINCED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 16 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 17 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to purchase eighteen(18)Less- 18 Than-Lethal Electronic Control Taser Devises to be used by the Little Rock Police Department. 19 Section 2. Funds for this purchase in the amount of Seventy-Two Thousand, Sixty-Two and 73/100 20 Dollars ($72,062.73), including taxes, are available from the Training Division's Budget, and Tools and 21 Minor Apparatus Account No. 105220-60050. 22 Section 3. Axon Enterprises,Inc.,is the sole manufacturer for the Less-Than-Lethal Electronic Control 23 Taser Devises, and the Board of Directors declared it is impractical and unfeasible to submit this purchase 24 to competitive bids. 25 Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 26 word of this ordinance is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 27 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the ordinance which shall remain in full force and 28 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 29 ordinance. 30 Section 5. Repealer. All laws,ordinances,resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with 31 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency. 32 Section 6. Emergency Clause.
