Home My WebLink About21579 1 ORDINANCE NO. 21,579 2 3 AN ORDINANCE TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO 4 DISPENSE WITH THE REQUIREMENT OF COMPETITIVE BIDDING 5 AND ENTER INTO A SOLE-SOURCE CONTACT WITH SOCRATA, 6 INC., IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO NINETY THOUSAND, EIGHT 7 HUNDRED SEVENTY-ONE AND 20/100 DOLLARS ($90,871.20), PLUS 8 APPLICABLE TAXES AND FEES, FOR THE ANNUAL SOFTWARE 9 SUBSCRIPTION AND MAINTENANCE RENEWAL; AND FOR OTHER 10 PURPOSES. 11 12 WHEREAS,Socrata,Inc., is the City's current Open Data platform vendor; and, 13 WHEREAS,the Socrata Open Performance Module connects with the data sets on the City's current 14 Open Data platform and is an extension of the work that has been done with What Works Cities; and, 15 WHEREAS, competitive bidding should be waived and a contract awarded to Socrata, Inc., as the 16 sole-source provider for the renewal of the Socrata Annual Software Subscription and Maintenance. 17 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 18 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 19 Section 1. The Board of Directors finds that competitive bidding should be dispensed with regarding 20 the renewal of the Socrata Annual Software Subscription and Maintenance, and the contract for such 21 services should be awarded to Socrata,Inc., as the sole-source provider for these services. 22 Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to dispense with competitive bidding and is 23 authorized to enter into a renewal contract with Socrata, Inc., for the Socrata Annual Software 24 Subscription and Maintenance in an amount not to exceed and Ninety Thousand,Eight Hundred Seventy- 25 One and 20/100 Dollars ($90,871.20), plus applicable taxes and fees. The current contract terminates on 26 April 30,2018; and if approved the current renewal contract has an effective date of May 1,2018. 27 Section 3. Funding for this purchase is available from Account No. 101011-61330. 28 Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 29 word of this ordinance is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 30 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the ordinance which shall remain in full force and 31 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the 32 ordinance.
