3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE A CONTRACT WITH RISK
4 MANAGEMENT RESOURCES TO PROVIDE THIRD-PARTY
5 ADMINISTRATION SERVICES FOR THE CITY'S SELF-FUNDED
6 WORKERS' COMPENSATION PROGRAM, AND FOR OTHER
7 PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS,the City of Little Rock Board of Directors passed Little Rock,Ark.Ordinance No. 13,866
10 (April 15, 2014) to authorize the City Manager to extend the existing contract with Risk Management
11 Resources to provide Third-Party Administration Services for the City's Self-Funded Workers'
12 Compensation Program at a rate of Seventy-Two Thousand Dollars($72,000.00)per year; and
13 WHEREAS,the rate was guaranteed for three(3)years with the maximum term noted in the Request
14 for Proposals effective July 1,2014; and
15 WHEREAS,the current coverage ended on June 30, 2017, and was extended for one (1) additional
16 year pursuant to Little Rock, Ark. Ordinance No. 21,434 (June 20, 2017) to provide coverage ending on
17 March 31,2018;and,
18 WHEREAS,the formal bidding process was conducted by BXS Insurance(Bancorp)and after careful
19 review Risk Management Resources was recommended to provide this service; and
20 WHEREAS,the terms of the agreement are from April 1, 2018, to March 31, 2019, for a maximum
21 term of seven(7)years;
22 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
23 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
24 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into an agreement with Risk Management
25 Resources to provide Third-Party Administration Services for the City's Self-Funded Workers'
26 Compensation Program at a rate of Seventy-Two Thousand Dollars($72,000.00)per year.
27 Section 2. The terms of the agreement are from April 1,2018,through and to include March 31,2019,
28 with a possible extension in one(1)-year increments for a maximum term of seven(7)years.
29 Section 3. Funding for this agreement is budgeted in Account No. 101003-52033.
30 Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, subtitle, section, subsection, subdivision, paragraph,
31 subparagraph,item,sentence,clause,phrase,or work of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid
32 or unconstitutional,such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution
33 which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or
34 unconstitutional was not originally a part of this resolution.

1 Section 5. Repealer. All ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same that are inconsistent with the
2 provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
