HomeMy WebLinkAbout14684 1 RESOLUTION NO. 14,684 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH COMCAST TO INSTALL, CONFIGURE, 5 AND MAINTAIN A FIBER OPTIC NETWORK BETWEEN THE LITTLE 6 ROCK POLICE DEPARTMENT TRAINING ACADEMY AND THE 7 LITTLE ROCK DATA CENTER; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 8 9 WHEREAS,due to aging infrastructure for network access g o a n d a recurrent loss of communications it 10 is necessary to install, configure and maintain a new 1 GB Fiber Optic Network between the Little Rock 11 Data Center and the Little Rock Police Department Training Academy; and, 12 WHEREAS, a formal request for proposals was submitted in Bid No. 17-160 which resulted in a 13 determination that Comcast was the lowest responsible and responsive bidder to perform this work over a 14 five(5)-year period of time; and, 15 WHEREAS, it is essential that this agreement be entered into as quickly as possible as part of the 16 City's overall law enforcement efforts; 17 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 18 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 19 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into an agreement with Comcast to install, 20 configure and maintain a Fiber Optic Network between the Little Rock Police Department Training 21 Academy and the Little Rock Data Center. 22 Section 2. The various costs for this project are One Thousand,Fifty Dollar($1,050.00)monthly fee, 23 plus any additional taxes, fees, and travel expenses for a total of approximately Sixty-Three Thousand 24 Dollars($63,000.00)over a sixty(60)-monthP eriod. 25 Section 3. Funds for the agreements are available as follows: 26 (a) The cost of service is available in Public Works Account No.603110-63710 and Police 27 Account No. 105200-63711; 28 (b) Throughout the life of the agreement, the costs will be divided evenly between these 29 two(2)City departments. 30 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 31 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adju- 32 dication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect [Page 1 of 2] 1 as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the reso- 2 lution. 3 Section 4. Repealer.
