3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO AN ANNUAL PURCHASE ORDER WITH CASCADE
5 ENGINEERING, IN AN AMOUNT UP TO TWO HUNDRED FIFTY
6 THOUSAND DOLLARS($250,000.00)ANNUALLY,FOR THE PURCHASE
7 OF NINETY-SIX (96)-GALLON SOLID WASTE CONTAINERS AS
8 NEEDED; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS, the Public Works Solid Waste Services Division must periodically purchase new Solid
11 Waste Containers for delivery to new customers, replace stolen carts, replace damaged carts and meet the
12 demand for additional carts; and
13 WHEREAS,the City of Little Rock received a quote from Cascade Engineering,utilizing the National
14 Joint Powers Alliance(NJPA)Cooperative Purchasing Agreement for the purchase of Garbage Carts up to
15 the amount of Two Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars($250,000.00)annually; and
16 WHEREAS,the contract allows for two (2) additional one (1)-year renewals of the Annual Purchase
17 Order if both parties are agreeable to the annual renewal;
18 NOW,THERFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
19 LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
20 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter a contract for the
21 purchase of ninety-six(96)-gallon Solid Waste Containers from Cascade Engineering up to the amount of
22 Two Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($250,000.00) annually, and to allow for two (2), one (1)-year
23 renewals if agreeable to both the City of Little Rock and Cascade Engineering.
24 Section 2. Funds for this purchase are allocated from Account No. 603110-60170.
25 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
26 word of this statement is declared or adjudges to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
27 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
28 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
29 resolution.
30 Section 4.Repealer. All laws, ordinance, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent with
31 the provision of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
