3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE
4 A CONTRACT WITH CARELINK, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEEED
5 FIFTY-FIVE THOUSAND, SEVEN HUNDRED EIGHTY-FIVE DOLLARS
6 ($55,785.00), UTILIZING THE 2017 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
7 • BLOCK GRANT FUNDS, TO PROVIDE MEALS ON WHEELS TO
8 ELIGIBLE PARTICIPANTS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS, in Little Rock, Ark., Resolution No. 14,420 (September 20, 2016), The Board of
11 Directors approved the sources and uses of 2017 Community Development Block Grant Funds from the
12 U.S.Department of Housing&Urban Development; and,
13 WHEREAS,a contract with Carelink to provide Meals on Wheels to elderly recipients was one of the
14 approved projects;and,
15 WHEREAS, funding is now in place to be able to be able to enter into such an agreement;
16 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
17 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
18 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into an agreement with Carelink in an amount not
19 to exceed Fifty-Five Thousand, Eight Hundred Seventy-Five Dollars ($55,875.00), to provide Meals on
20 Wheels to eligible recipients pursuant to the proposed included in the City's 2017 request for Community
21 Development Block Grant Funds.
22 Section 2. Funds for this agreement are available in the Community Development Block Grant Funds
23 from the U.S. Department of Housing&Urban Development monitored by the Housing&Neighborhood
24 Programs Department.
25 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
26 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adju-
27 dication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect
28 as if the portion SQ declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
29 resolution.
30 Section 4. Repealer. All resolutions, bylaws, and other matters inconsistent with this resolution are
31 hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency including, but not limited to, Little Rock, Ark.,
32 Resolution No. 14,420 (September 20,2016).
