3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO
4 PURCHASE TWENTY -SEVEN (27) 4 -DOOR MID -SIZE POLICE
5 SEDANS FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT; AND FOR OTHER
6 PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS, it is necessary for the Police Department to replace older, higher
9 mileage police sedans currently being operated by the Department, and
10 WHEREAS, the City has decided that it is in its best interest to purchase the
11 police units from the 2005 Arkansas State Purchasing Contract; and
12 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
13 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
14 Section 1: The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with
15 Bale Chevrolet for the purchase of twenty -seven (27) four -door mid -size police sedans,
16 for the amount of Four Hundred Fifty -nine Thousand, Eight Hundred One and 63/100
17 Dollars ($459,801.63) pursuant to the state purchasing contract.
18 Section 2. Funding for these purchases is to be from the funds approved by
19 the 2005 Short Term Financing Account.
20 Section 3. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that
21 are inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent
22 of such inconsistency.
23 Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence,
24 clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or
25 unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining
26 portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so
