HomeMy WebLinkAbout14580 1 RESOLUTION NO. 14,580 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO AN ANNUAL PURCHASING ORDER WITH UNITED ENGINES, 5 LLC, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED FIFTY 6 THOUSAND DOLLARS ($150,000.00) TO REMOVE, REBUILD AND 7 INSTALL ALLISON TRANSMISSIONS ON CITY VEHICLES AND TO 8 PROVIDE THE NECESSARY PARTS AND SERVICES; TO ALLOW FOR 9 THE POSSIBLE EXTENSION OF THE ANNUAL PURCHASE ORDER; 10 AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 11 12 WHEREAS, it is essential that the City obtain an Annual Purchase Order for a company that is trained 13 and capable of rebuilding Allison Transmissions in various City vehicles,as well as be able to provide parts 14 and service for such vehicles; and, 15 WHEREAS, pursuant to Bid No. 17132-C on March 17, 2014, the City requested competitive 16 responses,and received responses from two(2)different vendors; and, 17 WHEREAS, United Engines, LLC, of Little Rock, Arkansas, was determined to be the lowest 18 responsible and responsive bidder; 19 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 20 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 21 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into an annual purchasing order with United 22 Engines, LLC,of Little Rock, Arkansas,for an annual amount not to exceed One Hundred Fifty Thousand 23 Dollars ($150,000.00) to remove, rebuild, and install rebuilt Allison Transmissions for equipment owned 24 and operated by the City, and to provide necessary parts and services to fulfill this Annual Purchasing 25 Order; further, to permit an option for a one (1)-year renewal at this price, which can be exercised on two 26 (2)occasions. 27 Section 2. Funds for this annual purchasing order are found in the Fleet Parts Account No. 600013- 28 60310 29 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 30 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 31 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of this resolution, which shall remain in full force and 32 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 33 resolution.
