3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO
4 ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH J.A. RIGGS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT
5 TO EXCEED FIFTY-ONE THOUSAND,SEVENTY AND 80/100 DOLLARS
6 ($51,070.80), FOR A CATERPILLAR MODEL 249D, UTILIZING THE
7 NATIONAL JOINT POWERS ALLIANCE; AND FOR OTHER
8 PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS, the Parks & Recreation Department needs to purchase a new Caterpillar to replace one
11 that is aged and now requires high maintenance costs; and,
12 WHEREAS, the City is able to obtain such a vehicle from J.A. Riggs pursuant to a joint bidding
13 contract with the National Joint Powers Alliance;
14 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
15 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
16 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to purchase a Caterpillar Model 249D for Fifty-One
17 Thousand, Seventy and 80/100 Dollars ($51,070.80) from J.A. Riggs through the National Joint Powers
18 Alliance.
19 Section 2. Funds for this purchase are available in the 3/8-Cent Sales Tax Account 326609-72300-
20 TS60A31.
21 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
22 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adju-
23 dication shall not affect the remaining portions of this resolution, which shall remain in full force and
24 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
25 resolution.
26 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances and resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent
27 with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
