3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH ARKANSAS AUTOMATIC SPRINKLER,
5 INC., IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED FORTY-SIX
6 THOUSAND,THREE HUNDRED FIFTY-EIGHT DOLLARS ($146,358.00),
7 FOR A FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEM FOR THE INFORMATION
8 TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT BUILDING; AND FOR OTHER
9 PURPOSES.

11 WHEREAS, it is critical that the Information Technology Department Building be equipped with Fire
12 Alarms and Sprinkler Systems to protect the equipment and infrastructure of the City's Information
13 Technology System; and,
14 WHEREAS,after a competitive bidding process it was determined that the bid of Arkansas Automatic
15 Sprinkler, Inc., of One Hundred Forty-Six Thousand, Three Hundred Fifty-Eight Dollars ($146,358.00)
16 was the lowest responsible and responsive bid;
17 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
18 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
19 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into an agreement with Arkansas Automatic
20 Sprinklers, Inc., in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Forty-Six Thousand,Three Hundred Fifty-Eight
21 Dollars ($146,358.00) for a one-time installation cost of a Fire Protection and Fire Alarm System for the
22 Information Technology Department Building, located at 718 West Markham Street,Little Rock,Arkansas.
23 Section 2. The funding for this project comes from a Short-Term Financing Account for Information
24 Technology— Fire Suppression System, 325309-F446004.
25 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
26 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
27 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
28 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
29 resolution.
30 Section 4. Repealer. All laws,ordinances, resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
31 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
