HomeMy WebLinkAbout14483 1 RESOLUTION NO. 14,483 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO RENEW 4 AN AGREEMENT WITH BKD, LLP, TO PROVIDE CERTIFIED PUBLIC 5 ACCOUNTING SERVICES TO THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, 6 ARKANSAS, FOR THE PERIOD 2016-2017; AND FOR OTHER 7 PURPOSES. 8 9 WHEREAS, The City is required to conduct an independent financial audit each year of its various 10 funds and Pension Plans, and in doing so to comply with various City Ordinances and State and Federal 11 Laws and regulations; and, 12 WHEREAS,after a competitive process it was determined that the firm of BKD,LLP, in Little Rock, 13 Arkansas,was the most qualified firm to provide these services to the City; and, 14 WHEREAS, Pursuant to Little Rock, Ark., Resolution No. 13,397, BKD, LLP, has satisfactorily 15 completed the City's 2015 Audit, and the City wishes to exercise the option to extend the agreement for 16 two(2)additional fiscal years, 2016 and 2017; 17 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 18 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 19 Section 1. Pursuant to Little Rock, Ark., Rev. Code ("LRC") Subsection 2-243 (1988), the City 20 Manager is hereby authorized to exercise an option to renew this contract for the 2016 Fiscal Year Audit 21 with a negotiated fee of up to Two Hundred Fifty-Six Thousand Dollars ($256,000.00). 22 Section 2. Upon satisfactory completion of the City's 2016 Audit, the City Manager is authorized to 23 renew this contract for the 2016 Fiscal Year Audit at a negotiated fee not to exceed Two Hundred Sixty- 24 Eight Thousand,Eight Hundred Dollars($268,800.00). 25 Section 3. Severability. In the event any section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase or word of 26 this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication 27 shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the 28 portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally part of this resolution. 29 Section 4. Repealer.
