3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO PROVIDE
4 A CONTRIBUTION TO THE ARKANSAS HIGHWAY AND
5 TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT PROJECT FOR INTERSECTION
6 IMPROVEMENTS TO ASHER AVENUE/COLONEL GLENN ROAD/
7 UNIVERSITY AVENUE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

9 WHEREAS, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department is undertaking a project to
10 reconstruct the arterial intersection at Asher Avenue/Colonel Glenn Road/University Avenue; and,
11 WHEREAS,the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department has made a request to the City to
12 contribute a local share of the project cost; and,
13 WHEREAS,the City Board of Directors has determined that it is in the best interests of the City and
14 its inhabitants for the City to contribute to the project cost.
15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
16 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
17 Section 1. The Mayor, City Clerk, and City Manager are hereby authorized to execute agreements if
18 needed, in a form approved by the City Attorney,and to contribute funding to the Arkansas State Highway
19 Department for the project to improve the arterial intersection at Asher Avenue/Colonel Glenn
20 Road/University Avenue,
21 Section 2. Funding is to be from the 10% set aside for city-wide projects of the 2013 Capital
22 Improvement Bonds for Streets and Drainage. Amount authorized is Six Hundred Thousand Dollars
23 ($600,000).
24 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
25 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
26 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
27 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
28 resolution.
29 Section 3. Repealer. All laws,ordinances,resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
30 the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
