3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 • INTO A CONTRACT WITH BESTECH ENVIRONMENTAL
5 RESOURCES, INC., IN THE AMOUNT OF FIFTY-NINE THOUSAND,
6 SEVEN HUNDRED FORTY-FIVE DOLLARS ($59,745.00); FOR THE
7 PURCHASE AN INCINERATOR FOR THE HOUSING &
8 NEIGHBORHOOD PROGRAMS DEPARTMENT ANIMAL SERVICES
9 DIVISION FROM AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

11 WHEREAS, the City operates an Animal Services Agency which, from time to time, is required to
12 cremate the remains of animals that die within the City or otherwise have to be euthanized; and,
13 WHEREAS,the current crematorium is in poor shape,has undergone numerous repairs,and is in need
14 of replacement; and,
15 WHEREAS, after a formal competitive bid process it was determined that Bestech Environmental
16 Resources,Inc., submitted the lowest responsible and responsive bid;
17 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
18 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
19 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to purchase a crematorium in the amount of Fifty-Nine
20 Thousand, Seven Hundred Forty-Five Dollars ($59,745.00) from Bestech Environmental Resources, Inc.,
21 for use by the Housing&Neighborhood Programs Department Animal Services Division.
22 Section 2. Funds for this payment are available in Account TS35A06, the 3/8-Cent Capital
23 Improvement Sales Tax Fund.
24 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
25 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
26 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
27 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
28 resolution.
29 Section 4. Repealer. All laws,ordinances,resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
30 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
