3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH EMERGENCY VEHICLE SPECIALISTS, IN
5 THE AMOUNT OF SEVENTY-EIGHT THOUSAND, EIGHT HUNDRED
6 SEVENTY-TWO DOLLARS ($78,872.00), FOR THE PURCHASE OF
7 SIXTEEEN (16) SCOTT AIRPAK 75 UNITS TO BE USED BY THE
8 PULASKI COUNTY REGIONAL HAZMAT TEAM; AND FOR OTHER
9 PURPOSES.

11 WHEREAS, the Emergency Management Division of the City Manager's Office is committed to
12 improving hazardous materials response operations throughout the City of Little Rock; and,
13 WHEREAS, the City is a member of the Pulaski County Regional Hazmat Team which also includes
14 the municipalities of North Little Rock and Conway, as well as Pulaski County; and,
15 WHEREAS, in order to accomplish the goal of providing the best possible response to hazardous
16 material response operations,the purchase of sixteen (16) Scott Airpak 75 units has been determined to be
17 necessary; and,
18 WHEREAS, 100% of the funding for the Airpak units is provided by the State Homeland Security
19 Grant Program.
20 WHEREAS,NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
21 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
22 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into a contract for the
23 purchase of sixteen (16) Scott Airpak 75 units at a total cost of Seventy-Eight Thousand, Eight Hundred
24 Seventy-Two Dollars($78,872.00).
25 Section 2. Funds for this purchase will come from the State Homeland Security Grant Program.
26 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
27 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
28 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
29 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
30 resolution.
31 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
32 the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
