3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO AWARD
4 A CONTRACT TO GENE SUMMERS CONSTRUCTION, INC., IN AN
5 AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED NINETY-FOUR
6 THOUSAND, NINE HUNDRED FORTY-ONE AND 20/100 DOLLARS
7 ($194,941.20), FOR THE LEDGELAWN DRIVE DRAINAGE
8 REHABILITATION PROJECT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

10 WHEREAS, Bids were solicited for improvements for Ledgelawn Drainage Rehabilitation, Project
11 No. 13-5-101, Bid No. 16025; and,
12 WHEREAS, Gene Summers Construction, Inc., was the lowest responsive, responsible bid meeting
13 specifications.
14 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
15 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
16 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with Gene Summers
17 Construction, Inc., for Ledgelawn Drainage Rehabilitation in an amount not to exceed One Hundred
18 Ninety-Four Thousand, Nine Hundred Forty-One and 20/100 dollars($194,941.20), which is the base bid
19 amount of One Hundred Sixty-Two Thousand, Four Hundred Fifty-One and Dollars ($162,451.00), plus
20 20%contingencies.
21 Section 2. Funding for this project is from the 3/8-Cent Capital Improvement Sales and Compensating
22 Use Tax Funds and the 2013 Capital Improvements Bonds for Streets and Drainage as authorized by
23 Resolution No. 13,699 and amended by Resolution No. 14,269.
24 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
25 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
26 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
27 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
28 resolution.
29 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
30 the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
