3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH OAKLEY FERTILIZER,INC.,FOR THE
5 PURCHASE OF TREATED ROCK SALT IN BULK FOR THE PUBLIC
6 WORKS DEPARTMENT OPERATIONS DIVISION; AND FOR OTHER
7 PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS, the Public Works Department Operations Division utilizes treated rock salt during
10 adverse winter weather to remove snow and ice from the roadways;and,
11 WHEREAS,the Public Works Department has obtained a bid quote from Oakley Fertilizer,Inc.,being
12 One Hundred Fifteen Dollars ($115.00) per ton as needed, and has also consulted with the Arkansas
13 Highway&Transportation Dept.,(AHTD Bid Contract No. H-17-201J)with Oakley Fertilizer, Inc., being
14 the lowest responsible bidder meeting specifications;and,
15 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
16 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
17 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into a contract with
18 Oakley Fertilizer, Inc., for the purchase of treated rock salt in bulk for the Public Works Department
19 Operations Division at a cost of One Hundred Fifteen Dollars($115.00)per ton, as needed, in an amount
20 not to exceed Three Hundred Thousand Dollars($300,000.00)per year,to be utilized during adverse winter
21 weather to remove snow and ice from the roadways.
22 Section 2. Funds for this purchase are allocated in Account: Streets & Drainage Maintenance No.
23 204003-61020.
24 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
25 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
26 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
27 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
28 resolution.
29 Section 4. Repealer. All laws,ordinances,resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
30 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
