HomeMy WebLinkAbout14384 1 RESOLUTION NO. 14,384 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE A CHANGE ORDER TO THE 4 CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT WITH MOSER CONSTRUCTION, LLC, 5 TO REMODEL THE JOSEPHINE PANKEY COMMUNITY CENTER, 6 LOCATED AT 13700 CANTRELL ROAD, TO ACCOMMODATE A 7 POLICE PRESENCE IN THE AREA; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 8 9 WHEREAS, on September 3, 2015, the City and Moser Construction, LLC, executed a construction 10 contract with Moser Construction to remodel the Josephine Pankey Community Center, located at 13700 11 Cantrell to accommodate a Police presence for the area; and, 12 WHEREAS, the cost of the construction/remodeling contract is One Million, Two Hundred Sixty- 13 Six Thousand,Nine Hundred Eighty-Two and 09/100 Dollars ($1,266,982.09), plus a 5% contingency of 14 Sixty-Three Thousand, Three Hundred Forty-Nine and 10/100 Dollars ($63,349.10), for a total amount 15 not to exceed One Million, Three Hundred Thirty Thousand, Three Hundred Thirty-One and 19/100 16 Dollars($1,330,331.19); and, 17 WHEREAS, in order to complete the construction/remodel of the Josephine Pankey Community 18 Center, it is now necessary to execute Change Order No. 3B in an amount not to exceed Forty Thousand 19 Dollars ($40,000.00) in order to provide additional funding to pay for items remaining to be completed on 20 the project to include unforeseen water and sewer connections to the Community Center, a monument 21 sign, a privacy fence and to provide the Community Center with a cooktop and range hood which will 22 extend the City's occupancy without rent payment. 23 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 24 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 25 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to execute Change Order No. 3B in an amount not to 26 exceed Forty Thousand Dollars ($40,000.00) to the construction contract with Moser Construction, LLC, 27 for the construction/remodel of the Josephine Pankey Community Center to provide additional funding to 28 pay for items remaining to be completed on the project to include unforeseen water and sewer connections 29 to the Community Center, a monument sign, a privacy fence and to provide the Community Center with a 30 cooktop and range hood which will extend the City's occupancy without rent payment. 31 Section 2. Funding will come from 3/8-Cent Sales Tax Contingency and short-term financing 32 interest(TF25K09). 33 Section 3. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent • 34 with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
