3 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 8 OF THE 1988 REVISED
4 LITTLE ROCK CODE OF ORDINANCES; TO PROVIDE FOR THE
5 ADOPTION BY REFERENCE OF THE 2015 INTERNATIONAL
6 PROPERTY MAINTENANCE CODE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS, Little Rock, Arkansas, Rev. Code 8-172(a) adopts by reference the 2015 Edition of the
9 International Property Maintenance Code; and,
10 . WHEREAS, the City has complied with Arkansas Code Ann. §14-55-207 (1987) by publishing a
11 notice of intent to adopt these technical codes by reference in a paper of general circulation within the
12 municipality and three(3)copies of codes have been available for inspection in the City Clerk's Office for
13 the public prior to their adoption; and,
14 WHEREAS,this ordinance amendment is necessary updateCity to the Code and authorize the use of
15 2015 Edition within the City;
16 NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED,BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
17 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
18 Section 1. This section of Little Rock, Arkansas, Rev. Code 8-2(10) (1988) is hereby amended to
19 read as follows:
20 (a) The following publications are adopted by reference:
21 (1)The 2015 International Property Maintenance Code.
22 Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this provision are hereby repealed to
23 the extent of the conflict.
24 Section 3. Code Application. Permits obtained prior to the effective date of the ordinance will be
25 enforced under the previous adopted code till final disposition of the permit.
26 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same that are inconsistent with
27 the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
28 Section 5.Severability.In the event any title,section,paragraph,item,sentence,clause,phrase,or word
29 of this ordinance is declared or adjudge to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication
30 shall not affect the remaining portions of this ordinance,which shall remain in full force and effect as if the
31 portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of this ordinance.
32 Section 6.Effective date of this ordinance shall August 19,2016.
