3 A RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT THE BID FROM ARKANSAS
4 CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL TO LEASE PROPERTY FOR A PEDIATRIC
5 MEDICAL FACILITY AT
THE SOUTHWEST COMMUNITY PARK; TO
6 AUTHORIZE NEGOTIATION OF A LEASE AGREEMENT FOR A
7 PERIOD OF UP TO NINETY-NINE (99) YEARS; AND FOR OTHER
8 PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS, it was deemed appropriate to provide a Pediatric Health Care Facility in Southwest Little
11 Rock and to offer property that is part of the park which constitutes the Southwest Community Center to
12 locate such a facility; and,
13 WHEREAS,after a competitive selection process pursuant to Request for Proposal(RFP)No. 16126,
14 which was opened on June 20,2016,it was determined that the proposal from Arkansas Children's Hospital
15 was appropriate and a lease would best meet the needs of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas;
16 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
17 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
18 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to negotiate a lease agreement, in a form acceptable to the
19 City Attorney,for a term up to and including ninety-nine(99)years,with the representatives of the Arkansas
20 Children's Hospital for the use of property in the Southwest Community Park,for the location of a Pediatric
21 Health Care Facility,to be ultimately presented to the City Board of Directors for final approval.
22 Section 2. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
23 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
24 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
25 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
26 resolution.
27 Section 3. Repealer. All laws, ordinances,resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
28 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
